Ingredients
1/2 white onion, chopped
5 garlic cloves, chopped
1 jalapeno, chopped (I keep the seeds in)
zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 cup ginger root, peeled and chopped
1 tbsp ground turmeric
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 springs of thyme
apple cider vinegar
honey (I usually use around 1/4 cup)
Recipe
- Grab a medium jar with a lid so this cider completely seals shut.
- In a jar, add the white onion, garlic cloves, jalapeño, zest and lemon juice, ginger root, ground turmeric, cayenne pepper, thyme.
- Once it’s all in there, add apple cider vinegar. You’ll want enough apple cider vinegar to just cover the ingredients.
- Put the lid on your jar, give it a good shake.
- Store your jar in a cold, dark place out of the sunlight for one month, shaking it once a day.
- After a month, you’ll strain the mixture and keep the liquid.
- Stir in the honey to sweeten the flavor and that’s it!
- For dosage: I take 1-2 tbsp a day for a potent punch of immune support. If I’m starting to feel symptoms of a cold, I’ll up my dosage to 2-3 tbsp. For my older kiddos, I try to have them take at least 1 tbsp.

Note: I am not a doctor or dietician. This is a natural remedy my family uses for immune support.

There are a few different ways to make fire cider, but this is how I made this round. Sometimes I’ll use horseradish and rosemary as well.
