Homemade Pizza Pockets

Pizza Pocket, but healthier! This is so fun for the kids to make and is a great weekend dinner to make as a family.

Serves

4-6 servings

Ingredients

one tube of pizza dough (or homemade)
one small jar of pizza sauce
1/2 lb ground sausage, cooked (or whatever pizza topping you'd like to use)
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp dried oregano

Recipe

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
  • Cut the pizza crust into 6 rectangles using a pizza cutter.
  • Spoon pizza sauce on the center of each rectangle.
  • Top the sauce with cheese and your choice of pizza topping (sausage, pepperoni, etc)
  • Fold over each rectangle and using a fork, press the edges closed.
  • Place the pizza pockets onto a greased or nonstick baking sheet.
  • Using a brush, brush olive oil over the top of each pocket and then sprinkle dried oregano over top.
  • Bake at 425 degrees for about 10-15 minutes, until golden brown on top.
  • Serve with dipping sauce.
