Ingredients
2 cups self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 tsp salt
butter to place on top of the biscuits
Recipe
- Preheat your oven to 475 degrees.
- Add flour and salt to a medium bowl and give it a stir. Pour in your cold heavy cream into the flour mixture and stir it up using a wooden spoon until it’s all mixed together.
- Place the flour on a clean countertop that has a little bit of flour spread so it doesn’t stick.
- Kneed the dough a little and pat it down until it’s around 2 in thick. Fold it into in half and then in half again and repeat that a couple times. Add flour to the surface as needed so it doesn’t’ stick. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out and let’s get ready to cut some biscuits!
- Cut the biscuits using a 3 inch biscuit cutter. Press down and bring the cutter straight up. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet that’s been greased. Ball up the dough, roll it out and keep cutting the biscuits until your dough is used. Just before I put them in the oven, I add a little square of butter to the top so it melts as it bakes.
- Bake at 475 for around 12 minutes or so, until they’re golden brown. Brush will some more butter if you’d like and then serve!
