Bah Humbug Cookies

Bah HUMBUG! These cookies are so fun to make with the kids and are a twist on your normal Christmas cookie. Make these cookies and have a family movie night watching The Grinch.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 tsp green gel food coloring
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp cocoa
green sanding sugar
large marshmallows, halved

Recipe

  • Preheat your oven to 350.
  • In a large bowl, mix your butter and sugar until it’s fluffy.
  • Add in your egg, vanilla and food coloring and mix again.
  • Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa into the bowl. Mix it all again until it’s all combined.
  • Pour some sanding sugar on a small plate.
  • Scoop out balls of dough, roll it up and roll in the sanding sugar.
  • Place the dough ball on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Continue doing this until all of the dough is issued.
  • Make at 350 for about 8-10 minutes. Take them out and top them with half of a large marshmallow.
  • Place them back into the oven for a minute or so, until the marshmallow softens.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven, place a Hershey’s kiss on top of each marshmallow.
  • Enjoy!
