Ingredients
1 brick cream cheese, softened
1 container of whipped topping, thawed
1 cup powdered sugar
3 tbsp butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup corn syrup
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
Recipe
- In a large bowl, use a hand mixer and mix the softened cream cheese. Add in the powdered sugar and thawed whipped topping. Mix it up until it’s nice and smooth.
- Add it to the bottom of a pie dish as the base of the dip. Set that aside.
- In a medium saucepan on medium low heat, add the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and an egg. Stir it continuously until it’s all mixed together. You want to avoid your egg scrambling so be sure to continue mixing it all together. If you happen to get a couple white pieces from the egg, just pull them out.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and then stir in your chopped pecans and vanilla extract.
- Let the pecan mixture cool down just a little bit before adding it to the top of the whipped cream mixture in the pie dish. You don’t want the pecan mixture to melt the base mixture.
- Once you add the pecan mixture on top, spread it out so it’s even.
- Serve with pretzels, apple slices or shortbread cookies.
